Bringing Children Home - One Mother at a Time
At Tanya’s Home, we believe every mother deserves the chance to rebuild her life, and every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving home. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering mothers struggling with addiction and trauma, particularly those who have lost custody of their children. Through comprehensive recovery support, legal advocacy, and a nurturing environment, we help families heal, reconnect, and create stable, healthy futures.
Tanya’s Home is more than just a place—it’s a community of hope. We are committed to breaking the cycle of trauma and addiction, creating pathways for mothers to reunite with their children and regain stability in their lives. We understand the higher rates of child removal experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mothers and mothers escaping domestic violence. As such, we offer priority support to help them navigate these challenges in a safe, understanding environment where they can find the resources they need.
Mothers battling addiction, especially those who have lost custody of their children, often face overwhelming stigma and hopelessness. With limited access to the services they need to recover and reunite with their families, they are left feeling trapped in their situation. Tanya’s Home fills this critical gap by offering comprehensive recovery support, legal advocacy, and safe accommodation, including assistance for women escaping domestic violence. We understand how family violence can complicate a mother's recovery and her ability to regain custody, and we provide the necessary support to help them navigate these challenges and build a safer future.
Their children, meanwhile, suffer in silence—victims of trauma and instability. Separated from their mothers, they face emotional and developmental challenges. Helping these mothers recover isn’t just about overcoming addiction—it’s about giving their children the chance to grow up in a stable, loving environment. By supporting these mothers on their journey to sobriety, providing pathways out of violence, and helping them regain custody, we restore hope and security, creating a future where families can heal. Together, we can break the cycle of generational trauma and addiction.
Whether through donations, partnerships, or volunteering, your involvement has the power to change lives. Together, we can create a space where families heal, futures are rebuilt, and children can experience the love and security they need to thrive.

Tanya’s Home acknowledges the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work and provide services. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
